As a member of the Notre Dame Athletics team, the Associate Director of Data Insights and CRM will serve as a leader for department's new CRM strategy, database development, and usage. This person will collaborate with sales and marketing department leaders to define and document the overarching business objectives plan and execute sales campaigns in Salesforce while providing real-time reports and dashboards on campaign progress and salesperson performance metrics. The Associate Director of Data Insights and CRM will conduct full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, develop data insights and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements to the overall data eco-system. This person will also support our salespeople, continually training and guiding them on Salesforce procedures as they use Salesforce to move prospects and constituents through our sales pipeline. Additionally, this person will assist in gathering Salesforce User feedback, prioritizing User needs, and developing new Salesforce features and functionality.


Data Insights responsibilities include:


  • Work in a cross functional environment with various business groups, IT, and end users to identify, document, and communicate business processes
  • Transform sales and marketing metrics into actionable insights and proposed next steps for leadership review
  • Develop strategies to acquire, and segment new data
  • Identify analytics trends and emerging platforms that enable the organization to continuously evolve, acquire new consumers, and increase engagement
  • Work with the leaders in Digital Marketing to help manage and move constituents and patrons through the marketing sales funnel.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze campaign performance and clearly articulate insight for how to improve engagement.
  • Demonstrate excellent story-telling skills with data visualizations.
  • Develop strategies around data enrichment and information that could provide insights into interests/behaviors in addition to the basic demographic profile of a donor or fan
  • Create and develop reports and dashboards to support the day-to day needs of Notre Dame Athletics
  • Work with leadership to always review and assess current and prospective program enhancements to better our experience for our fans
  • Proactively generate new ideas, build business cases, and measure results to help our marketing and sales operations stay best-in-class
  • Assist marketing to develop target audiences for sales and service communications (email, social, web, print, etc.) across ticketing and other revenue generation efforts.


Associate Director of CRM responsibilities include:


  • Design, build, and drive campaigns to better engage constituents and patrons.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Salesforce, as well as the internal database administrator and subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for training sales & service staff in CRM and ensuring that records are being updated and accurately in a timely manner. Monitor and increase user adoption through continual training.
  • Manage the relationship with Paciolan's FanOne group, leveraging their capabilities for optimal CRM implementation and success
  • Work with internal groups on segmentation and timing and short/long-term planning initiatives for revenue generating campaigns
  • Understand the sources of data that feed into the CRM system and recommend how best to collect, organize, and use this data to maximize revenue and fan engagement
  • Provide recommendations to sales leadership team on how to leverage our CRM to execute on their strategic vision, including lead scoring, prospecting, and retention strategies.
  • Automate web form processes for lead generation/creation, data acquisition, and notifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification or Significant Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms/relational databases
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills with people at various levels/areas of the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a positive demeanor and minimal direction
  • Strong interpersonal, critical, and innovative thinking, communication and organizational skills and initiative
  • Ability to collaborate and influence project stakeholders and developers, and work in or lead cross-functional teams
  • Experience working test design, test execution, and validating solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement experience.
  • 2-3 years of SQL experience
  • Demonstrated and effective contribution to revenue generation
  • Experience successfully working on data projects involving cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify less clearly‐ defined issues, develops possible solutions, and takes appropriate action to resolve
  • Dashboard-building experience in business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Domo, etc.
  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in complex data
  • Ability to convey information to Executive Leadership, that will likely influence strategic decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate issues and progress
  • Organization, punctuality, and attention to detail




Preferred Qualifications:


And, it would be amazing if you:


  • Direct experience in collegiate or professional athletic organizations
  • Master’s degree or advanced education
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in math, statistics, economics, engineering (or sociology/psychology with strong quantitative background) or a related field
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for management of large data sets
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo or Power BI
  • Experience with SSB, KORE or other data warehouse & MDM solutions
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Experience with business process mapping, evaluation, and redesign (e.g., Lean Six Sigma certification)
  • Experience that demonstrates knowledge around sales and service, preferably in the sports industry and with Email Marketing Platforms (Eloqua) is preferred.
