JOB DESCRIPTION:

The graduate assistant will provide operational support for the promotion of Goucher College Athletics. With support and guidance from the director of athletic communications, this position will assist with the development and production of content for the Goucher Sports Network (GSN) and related social media platforms including game programs, press releases, game notes, and audio/video media. This position will also update the athletics webpage, log in-game statistics, assist with gameday management, and produce and update audio/visual content for annual athletic ceremonies.

 


REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, media arts, athletic administration, or a related field and relevant professional work experience in communications, athletic administrations, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of relevant work experience in a higher education environment, which may include student employment or volunteer work as an undergraduate student. The successful candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills in order to interact with a diverse constituency including student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration. This role requires strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, StatCrew, ProductionTruck, and Adobe Creative Suite software; and proficiency with social media platforms.

The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) with the area of specialization in Athletic Program Leadership and Administration. Qualified candidates must have at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to the GPE.

 


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This two year position, available beginning August 2021, is approximately 20 hours per week and will require weekend and evening work. Compensation for this position will be offered as tuition remission, a stipend, and an unfurnished, on-campus apartment with private bath. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
