Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is responsible for recruiting, guiding, educating and developing student-athletes to achieve their fullest potential with the fundamental characteristics and requirements that are necessary to conduct and produce a successful University intercollegiate women’s lacrosse program while instilling the importance of academic achievements at the Division I level. The Head Coach is also responsible for permanent employees. This position makes/recommends final hiring decisions and takes disciplinary actions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: • Establishes and maintains a nationally competitive intercollegiate women’s lacrosse team within the Big Ten and NCAA. • Recruits high level academically and athletically skilled female students to attend Rutgers to earn a degree and to compete in the women’s lacrosse program. • Schedules, organizes and conducts practices and competitions at a high level of efficiency and success. • Develops, teaches and instructs the student-athletes in the proper rules of competition, conditioning skills and techniques on the field and in life-skills and leadership qualities on and off the field. • Fundraises and assists in public relation events that support the objectives of the program and allow for program enhancements. • Responsible for overall administration of the Women’s Lacrosse team. Must develop and implement goals for the program, team code of conduct and strategic and tactical plans to achieve a high level of success in practices and competitions • Evaluate student-athletes and staff annually • Address team discipline and academic issues as they arise. Head coach will solve and make final decision on discipline or resolution. If situation escalates, head coach will make recommendations to supervisor to make a joint decision.

• A minimum of 3 years coaching experience, preferably on the intercollegiate level, knowledge NCAA and Big Ten rules and regulations.
• Must possess good organizational, communication and public relations skills
• Must be computer literate
• Ability to prepare/analyze recruiting databases and practice and game plans.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Head coaching experience at the intercollegiate level preferred.
