Job Description:
The Head Men's & Women's Volleyball Coach will support the mission of Emmanuel College through leading and managing the operations the NCAA DIII varsity women's volleyball and men's volleyball programs. The Emmanuel athletics program is an NCAA III member of the Great Northeast Atlantic Conference (GNAC). Responsibilities will include:
Effectively coach, direct, and manage all aspects of the varsity women's and men's volleyball programs to include, but not limited to, development of volleyball skill-sets of women's and men's volleyball student-athletes; recruitment and retention of student-athletes participating in the volleyball programs; serving as a mentor to student-athletes; management, leadership, and supervision of practices and all match day activities; management and oversight of women's and men's volleyball team travel; nominate women's and men's volleyball student-athletes for recognition and awards; monitor team fiscal activities; manage team uniforms and equipment;
Ensure that the varsity women's and men's volleyball teams meet all NCAA, GNAC and institutional compliance standards;
Remain apprised of NCAA playing rules updates;
Ensure that the women's and men's volleyball programs represent Emmanuel in the best possible way on and off of the court, in the classroom, and in the community;
Assist with athletics-sponsored events where applicable;
Communicate regularly with administrators, athletic training staff, support staff, head coaches, assistant coaches, student-athletes;
Serve on appropriate and applicable campus committees;
Engage with Emmanuel women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and athletics alumni/ae and friends of the programs;
Work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse student-athlete, student, faculty, staff, and community population;
Play an integral part in the on-campus recruitment of all student-athletes, including women's volleyball and men's volleyball student-athletes;
Other opportunities and duties could include assistant athletic director, senior woman administrator, compliance, business operations, contracts, etc. commensurate based on experience.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidates will possess significant knowledge of and proven success in coaching college volleyball; demonstrated knowledge and adherence to NCAA, conference and institutional rules and regulations; demonstrated outcomes of successful recruitment and retention of quality student athletes; excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and to work collaboratively; a bachelor's degree; the ability to sometimes work long hours, including nights and weekends.
