Western New England University invites applications for a Head Coach to be hired for the 2019-2020 academic year with the major responsibility initially to recruit a complete roster for the inaugural Women’s Ice Hockey team that will begin competition at the NCAA level in the 2020-2021 academic year.
The University, a member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference and currently home to 19 varsity NCAA sports, including nine for women, is seeking the right person to capitalize on a unique opportunity to lead the growth and development of a highly competitive Women’s Ice Hockey program.
This position is a full-time, 10 month appointment. Responsibilities will include managing all aspects of a DIII Women’s Ice Hockey program including but not limited to: Recruiting and retaining student-athletes, practice and game planning and execution, coordinating technical, tactical, and fitness/conditioning training sessions, and assuring program is in compliance with all Departmental, University, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated Ice Hockey coaching ability and experience required. Collegiate level experience preferred. Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
