POSITION OVERVIEW

Colby- Sawyer College, an NCAA Division III institution with 18 varsity sports primarily competing in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), is searching for a head women’s volleyball coach. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of continuing to build and sustain a competitive Division III women’s volleyball program. This position will assist the Director of Athletics with the long-term planning and continued development of the volleyball program; an additional administrative area will be assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III volleyball program,
including but not limited to; practice planning, recruiting, game day management, and scheduling
• All aspects of successful budget management of an NCAA Division III program
• Coordinate team fundraising initiatives and assists with promotion of the team or athletic program as needed
• Work cooperatively with personnel in the Athletics department, attend department meetings, institutional events
and activities, and always represents the college positively when interacting with the community, alumni, other
higher education institutions, high school and club coaches, media and general public
• Foster an environment that emphasizes academic success and student-athlete development; while supporting
the institutional and department commitment to retention, integrity, sportsmanship and the graduation of
student-athletes
• Responsible for establishing job standards for subordinate staff and effectively evaluating staff/assistant
coaches
• Willingness to be involved on NCAA national, regional and GNAC committees

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Possess a bachelor's degree, master's preferred
• Head or assistant coach experience at the college level
• Good executive skills, as well as a strong leadership foundation
• Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes is
required
• Experience with fundraising and budget management
• Valid driver’s license at appointment and willingness to drive fleet vehicles
• CPR, first aid, and AED certified one month prior to appointment
