JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head Volleyball Coach, this position is responsible for, but not limited to recruitment, video analysis, skill development of student athletes, game/ practice planning, alumni relations and day to day program administrative duties. Specific emphasis on recruiting and practice planning. This position will work collaboratively with the Head Coach and volleyball staff in developing a competitive Division 1 program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recruiting-
Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes - local, regional, national, and international.  Establish and cultivate relationships with high school coaches. Participate in the planning and execution of unofficial and official recruiting visits. Maintain and manage recruiting logs and contact dates/times.

Student-Athlete Skill Development & Membership-
Assist in the instruction, assessment, and growth of volleyball student-athlete skill development. Assist in implementation and management of academic progress. Serve as active participate in student-athlete progress off the court in a holistic approach.

Administrative-
Organize team travel to matches including - ground transportation, lodging and meals. Work collaboratively with head coach, equipment manager and vendor on team equipment ordering. Contribute to the management and requesting of program annual operating budget. Plan, coordinate and establish initial contact for program future scheduling.

Video Analysis-
Organize, administer and execute all aspects of video for the program.  This includes but is not limited to preparing scouting sheets with input from the head coach and volleyball staff.  This includes opponent and self-scout videos and reports.

Practice, Match Planning, and Match Strategy-
Organize, administer, and demonstrate all aspects of team practice. Assist in practice and match strategy. Prepare for matches involving video breakdown and analysis. Maintain practice records in accordance with NCAA and conference guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree
-Three years of relevant coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level  
-A DMV background check is required for this role.
-The ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s degree
-Experience playing and/or coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level
-Knowledge of NCAA and conference compliance rules and regulations

An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.  

Physical Requirements-
The ability to work in and move about office and recreational facility settings. The ability to use a computer and other office equipment. Stamina, strength, and dexterity to perform coaching related duties.  The ability to lift, carry, and/or transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.  The ability to commute to offsite locations to attend meetings, games, and to recruit student athletes.  The ability to read printed materials and a computer screen.  The ability to communicate in person, by email, via video, and over the telephone.
