Research on NCAA Women Coaches Academy Graduates

Tracking Report

To date no data existed that tracked the occupational trajectories of NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) graduates after they participated in the WCA. The Alliance formalized a partnership with Dr. Nicole LaVoi, co-director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport to conduct the first, and perhaps only, empirical examination of women-focused coach education and professional development programming. TheĀ  first study examined the coaches who attended the NCAA Women Coaches Academy from December 2014 through June 2017 (classes #34 through #42). The data provides one perspective on how the NCAA WCA is effective, important and needed in the lives of women coaches.
