WHAT
The data demonstrates investment in NCAA Division II & III women coaches is necessary to support their advancement and retention in the coaching profession. WeCOACH has established a new year-round professional growth and leadership Development Program dedicated to Division II & III women coaches across all sports that offers strategies to address the challenges and obstacles women face to stay in, feel supported, and advance in the coaching profession. We will also partner to actively build the pipeline of aspiring Division II & III women coaches.

Presenter: Dr. Megan Buning, CMPC
Title: Clinical Associate Professor & Certified Mental Performance Consultant
Affiliation: Florida State University, Athletic Coaching Degree Program
Athletes spend countless hours training their bodies and refining technical skills, yet often the mental side of athletic performance goes underdeveloped. In this engaging and practical session, Dr. Megan Buning will draw on her experience as a professional softball player, collegiate coach, and Certified Mental Performance Consultant to teach coaches how to develop the essential mental skills that drive consistent, confident, high‑level performance for athletes of all levels. Dr. Buning will break down mental skills into clear, actionable strategies that athletes can immediately apply in training and competition to enhance performance under pressure. Participants will learn how to help athletes build confidence, manage nerves, sharpen focus, and bounce back quickly from mistakes — all skills that research shows are trainable, not innate.
Who’s Eligible?
Any Division II or III conference that has registered its member schools for the Development Program and paid the enrollment fee.
Any Division II or III women coaches with a WeCOACH membership, including institutional and conference group members.
